PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ControlRoom VR Launches on Steam for Vive and Oculus Rift January 16, 2020

Los Angeles based Persp3ctive has announced that their VR music production software, ControlRoom, will be launching on Steam VR with support for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive on January 16th. ControlRoom VR is currently available on the Oculus Store for Rift/S and available for Oculus Quest directly from Persp3ctive.

ControlRoom is a revolutionary new way to incorporate VR into the music production process. By interfacing with existing music production software, ControlRoom allows musicians, producers, and engineers to mix and bring life into their tracks using the power of gestural control, 3D interfaces, and visualization– enhancing their existing software tools with the power of immersive technology..

ControlRoom VR officially supports Ableton Live and Avid Pro Tools, with limited support for many other DAWs (digital audio workstation). It is free to use as a MIDI and DAW controller, and with the purchase of Persp3ctive’s ControlRoom Channel and Master plugins, users can take advantage of Persp3ctive’s powerful audio processing and intuitive VR interfaces like the Spatial Mixer and more. The plugins are currently available for $49 from Persp3ctive.

ControlRoom VR now also works in tandem with Persp3ctive’s latest offering, ControlRoom Mobile, an AR powered gestural MIDI controller for iOS and Android. Allowing users to collaborate with gestural control both in and out of VR.

ControlRoom is a revolutionary new tool that allows musicians to step away from their computers to work faster and more creatively by combining the benefits of working in an immersive environment with industry standard tools.

Persp3ctive is dedicated to building next generation creative tools that utilize the power of AR and VR.  ControlRoom was a finalist in the 2019 SXSW Innovation Awards.

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cynthia Erivo’s song “Stand Up”, from the film Harriet, was selected for the reputed Academy Award shortlist. The film version was mixed by Alan Meyerson, but for the official soundtrack and music video, producers Will Wells and Gabe Fox-Peck wanted something more. Will reached out to frequent collaborator Ryan Gilligan.

“Will called and said they wanted it to BUMP. The film version mixed by Alan sounded fantastic but they wanted some radio-style punch and more depth for the soundtrack version,” says mixing engineer Ryan Gilligan. “I mixed in Pro Tools and relied heavily on the ControlRoom software from Persp3ctive, a music software company I co-founded last year with Greg Barbone and Jacob Maymudes. After inserting the ControlRoom Channel plugin on every track in the session, those plugins showed up in the ControlRoom VR app, where I could control all their parameters in 3D and feel immersed in the mix by virtually stepping away from the computer monitor. Controlling my Pro Tools mixes from VR really gets me to think outside the box and feel inspired to be more bold in my mixing choices.”

Persp3ctive is dedicated to building useful VR and AR tools for creative professionals, providing intuitive virtual control over their existing software by utilizing the world’s most engaging new immersive technology.

ControlRoom VR is currently available for Oculus Rift, Quest and will be adding support for HTC Vive on Steam on January 16th. Additionally, they have just released a new iOS and Android version called ControlRoom Mobile, and their DAW plugins are available in AU/VST3/AAX which work with or without VR.Persp3ctive is a 2019 SXSW Innovation Award Finalist in the Music and Audio Category. PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Los Angeles based Persp3ctive has just announced the release of their latest app ControlRoom Mobile.  Building on the ControlRoom platform, ControlRoom Mobile allows musicians to add nuanced expression to their music recording software using three dimensions of gestural control simply by moving their mobile phone in space.  Control your tracks like a conductor or as you dance around your studio.

ControlRoom Mobile uses the power of augmented reality to turn any later model iPhone or Android phone into a next generation MIDI controller by tracking the device’s position in space. By mapping different controls to the X, Y, and Z axes, you can control a different MIDI parameter for each direction you move your device, allowing you to fluidly automate three things at once to create never-before-possible sounds. For example, move up/down to control reverb level, left/right for a delay feedback, and front/back for distortion.

ControlRoom Mobile allows you to connect to your favorite DAW or MIDI-enabled outboard gear like analog synths and drum machines, with the free ControlRoom Hub desktop app available from persp3ctive.com. The Hub facilitates the connection to your DAW and allows you to quickly name and map any MIDI parameters you wish to control.

If your DAW supports MIDI-mapping, like Ableton Live or Logic, you can control any combination of third party plugins or DAW parameters that you like.

ControlRoom mobile is built on the same platform as ControlRoom VR, currently available on the Oculus Store, a fully immersive studio controller that allows its users to control the parameters of their DAW in a virtual world.

Persp3ctive is a 2019 SXSW Innovation Award Finalist in the Music and Audio Category.
