ControlRoom Plugin Tools leverage the DSP of our Channel and Master DAW plugins and allow you to control and visualize your tracks in a revolutionary new way. They can be used in the traditional way in your DAW with a clean and intuitive 2D interface. Jump into VR, and you have access to next generation mixing tools straight out of Minority Report.
ControlRoom Channel and Master are designed and tested by Grammy-winning engineers, and were built to be the best sounding channel strips in your arsenal. They feature a gritty and flexible Compressor section, a transparent and musical EQ, and a brand new type of processing we call Proximity, which makes it extremely simple to get things to pop out of your mix, or set them back into the bed of your track, using a single Near/Far parameter.
Each of the Plugin Tools below requires no mapping to use in VR, and are available instantly the moment you insert ControlRoom Channel on a track in your DAW session.
The plugins are included with ControlRoom, and can be used with or without VR.
If you ever wanted to see and interact with a 3D representation of your mix, this is the tool for you. Build your mix with the Spatial Mixer. Each sphere represents an instance of the ControlRoom Channel DAW plugin, and can be automated in space to control Level, Panning, and Proximity.
Plugin Tablet – Compressor
This interface helps you stop thinking about the numbers, and be bolder in your mixing choices. Access every parameter of the ControlRoom Channel compressor section from within VR. Use the tablet to control every parameter, or interact with the forward-thinking pyramid interface to fluidly adjust threshold, ratio, and attack/release time by physically re-shaping the pyramid.
Plugin Tablet – EQ
It’s never been simpler to find that problem frequency or gently shape your curve. Get hands on with your ControlRoom Channel EQ. Select the track you’d like to adjust, then grab an EQ band to fluidly adjust Frequency, Gain, and Q by moving your hand in 3D space. Quickly change the shape of each band between Bell, Hi/Lo Shelf, or Notch using the joystick on your VR controller. You can see each individual band splayed out in 3D, with the overall summed EQ curve in white behind the individual bands.
The Spectralyzer is a brand new type of metering tool which combines an FFT and phase meter. It was designed to be both artful and informative, displaying frequency along the vertical access, stereo information along the horizontal access, and amplitude along the Z axis. Metering from each instance of the ControlRoom Channel plugin can be toggled on or off, enabling you to easily see how individual tracks are interacting with each other, helping you uncover problem areas in your mix. At the same time, it’s a beautiful 3D visualizer bouncing along in real time to your mix.
